While rapper DMX has been in and out of jail on multiple occasions, up until now he’s failed to realize that a company that was hired to collect his royalties has been holding out on him for years now.
According to Yahoo News, a lawsuit
was filed against New Jersey-based company Rich Kids Entertainment claiming that the company has withheld money from DMX for a decade.
The lawsuit states that Rich Kids Entertainment has continuously collected royalties from DMX’s songs and even made deals with labels to have DMX’s songs reproduced. The company did not inform DMX of either the royalties received or reproduced songs.
"From 2000 through 2008, (DMX) was in and out of jail and changed representatives numerous times. These were some of the factors contributing to any delay," states the lawsuit in regards to why it has taken so long for DMX to take any action.
DMX is currently serving time in a Phoenix jail for violating his probation. The rapper was sentenced to six months.
