When people are discussing the all-time greats, DJ Quik's name is forgotten at an alarming rate. Consider that the man can out-produce, and likely out-rap the majority of the game, bringing out one of the west coast's smoothest flows. With an excellent discography to look back on, today's Throwback cut finds us returning to 2005's Trauma, led off by the magnificent schmoove of "Black Mercedes." The self-produced banger enlisted the legendary Nate Dogg for a sizeable appearance, handling double duties with work on both the verse and the hook. It's always nice to hear the iconic baritone bless a record, and Nate truly shines over a lively bass-line.

Lyrically, Quik stands triumphant in his wheelhouse, dexterously depicting sexually charged encounters with a mack's poise. "Stiletto to the metal, panties rose petal print, pussy with a subtle scent, tryin' to get you double bent," he raps, before Nate Dogg tags in. Structurally, it's somewhat evocative of Eminem and Nate Dogg's "Shake That," dealing in similar pornographic themes, albeit with a touch more class. Be sure to show some love in the comments section, as they simply don't make them like this any more.

Quotable Lyrics

I popped the Perrier-Jouet, tryin' to get the two-way crackin'
Me and you back in the back of the back room
Actin' like you can't come back soon enough to do it rough, cause you a bluff
But I'm a winner, I could hold, watch your pretty legs fold
Stiletto to the metal, panties rose petal print
Pussy with a subtle scent, tryin' to get you double bent
