DJ Khaled has been blowing up the charts for a few months now, following the release of his album Grateful. Buoyed by the success of singles like "I'm The One" and "Wild Thoughts," Khaled is one of hip-hop's best-known producers and personalities. As such, it should come as no surprise that BET has tapped him to return as the host of their Hip-Hop Awards show. The television event will be taped in Miami on October the 6th and will premiere on the network on October 10th.

As per the press release from Business Wire, BET is ecstatic to have the producer/DJ back in the fold. "D Khaled embodies real life 'keys to success'," said BET. He has a chance to take home his fair share of hardware as well, with a total of 9 nominations to his name including Album of the Year, DJ of the Year, Best Hip-Hop Video, Best Collabo, Duo Or Group, Producer Of The Year, Hustler of the Year, MVP of the Year, and 2 nods for Single of the Year. Khaled also released a small statement outlining that the excitement is also high on his end.

"I am so excited to host the BET Hip Hop Awards for a second year," he said "This is such an iconic show that highlights the hustle of hip hop artists in the industry. It is a huge honor to be a part of a night that pays homage to some of the greatest talent of our generation and I’m looking forward to the amazing performances and tributes. You know I’ll be bringing the cloth talk and the keys – Hip Hop Awards 2017 is going to be major!"

DJ Khaled is no stranger to this kind of success, as his pre-Grateful track record is an established one. Combined with his 2016 effort Major Key, it's safe to say that he is potentially at the apex of his career. One question - if he's brought onstage, does Asahd get a co-hosting credit for the awards show?

Jesse Collins, the CEO of Jesse Collins Entertainment, will be holding down Executive Producer duties of the upcoming event, along with Connie Orlando (BET Interim Head of Programming) and Jeannae Rouzan–Clay (Vice President of Specials, Jesse Collins Entertainment).
