What once was a day is now a weekend with some of your favorite artists paying tribute to the late, great J Dilla.
While February 7th is celebrated as "Dilla Day" in Detroit, this year, the celebration will be going down in Miami as "Dilla Day" turns into a weekend event, February 5th through the 8th.
Scheduled performers include Joey Bada$$, Madlib, Pete Rock, Talib Kweli, Slum Village, Black Milk, Esta, and Camp Lo with more to be announced.Â
The event is hosted and organized by Dilla's mother, Maureen "Ma Dukes" Yancey. A limited amount of "early-bird" tickets are available for sale now at Jdillaweekend.com for $75, granting fans access to all concerts (some of which they must be 21+ for) and events. According to the site, there will also be BBQs, producer panels, artists meet and greets, and other Dilla related events.Â
