We're very excited today to debut our first-ever digital cover story, with Mr. Wonderful himself, Action Bronson.
HotNewHipHop is known as a hub for your daily intake of songs, mixtapes, and news, however, more than just reeling off the daily releases, we want to be able to give you first-hand coverage of your favorite artists, complete with in-depth feature stories and photo spreads. So we did.
Our first subject in what will be an on-going digital cover series is Action Bronson. The NYC-bred rapper has catapulted to rap stardom truly because of the internet (and websites like HNHH). The chef-turned-MC relied on mixtapes to get his name out there, and in equal part, he relied on sites like ours to feed those releases to the masses. His unique take on both instrumentals and lyrics set him apart from the trap-infused pack, and caught the attention, not only of our ears, but yours too.
With his album release in sight and a legion of loyal fans on the site, Bronsolino seemed like the perfect fit for our first cover story. We linked up with Bronson in Queens to shoot at Kissena Park, where his easy-going personality was on full display. Blunt in hand (obviously), Bronson engaged with random tourists and seagulls alike. No one was undeserving of his attention, nor his loaf of bread, which the birds feasted on. We then connected again in Austin, Texas, where we gained even more insight on Bronson's endearing attitude and his debut album, Mr. Wonderful.
