The news of Craig Mack's passing caught many people by surprise earlier today. The rapper passed away unexpectedly this morning in South Carolina. Many people took to Instagram and Twitter to share their condolences and memories of the late as well as the legacy he left behind. Among those is Diddy who signed Craig Mack to Bad Boy as their first artist. He took to Twitter earlier today to share a heartfelt message to the late rapper.
Diddy took to Twitter today to pay homage to Craig Mack shortly after news of his passing. Mack was the first rapper signed to Bad Boy and Diddy also said that he was the one that gave the label it's first hit record.
"Craig Mack, you were the first artist to release music on Bad Boy and gave us our first hit." He wrote, "You always followed your heart and you had an energy that was out of this world. You believed in me and you believed in Bad Boy. I will never forget what you did for hip-hop."
He later added, "You inspired me and will continue to inspire us. We will always love you. #RIPCraigMack #BadBoy4Life."
Diddy went onto Instagram later to elaborate further.
"He was way more than our first artist. He was such a sweet, kind, loving person. He was definitely a special, special individual." He said, "And I was just want to let y'all know just how important he is to the Bad Boy legacy. As an emcee, he took an unorthodox approach and he was a great man."
