We introduced you to the rising Toronto rapper Devontée with the premiere of his stand-out record "Let It Go." It served as a nice warm-up for those unfamiliar with the producer/rapper, and now, he's returned to HNHH with a new remix from SBTRKT's Wonder Where We Land album.
"Let It Go" had flares of the electronic, something which meshes well with Devontée's deep voice, and so a remix of the slightly-electronic "The Light" from SBTRKT and Denai Moore definitely seems appropriate, and offers up that contrast again. What do you think of it? Devontée drops two verses so don't clock out after the first one.
SBTRKT's new album Wonder Where We Land can be streamed here.
I've been grinding for nights, every day of the week
For a year for the lights to shine on me
And I'm up, up and away
If it's night or the day, either way
When the lights still gon' fade, but when the light fades
They gon' remember my name
