His full-length is "coming soon."
Though Desiigner has been referring to his upcoming debut as Liife Of Desiigner for going on 2 years now, the 7-track project he released Friday, L.O.D., is not his official album, but an EP, according to a post from the rapper. "LOD is a EP not a album," he shared in an Instagram Story. "Album coming soon."
In November, Desiigner revealed that he would be dropping "2 albums" in the near future: Life Of Desiigner and New English 2. It seems that somewhere between then and now, LOD went from an album to an EP. It is unclear if the album Desiigner teased on Instagam is in fact New English 2, which would make it the sequel to his debut mixtape. Of course, if this is the case, Desiigner would not be the first rapper to release a mixtape sequel as an album. Just look at Future's Future's DS2.
Some fans have speculated that Desiigner's new album being a 7-track release has something to do with plans made by Kanye West, the founder of Desiigner's label GOOD Music. Kanye recently announced that his next album would be 7 tracks in length. At the same time, he announced albums from fellow signees Teyana Taylor and Pusha T. Could the next wave of GOOD Music releases all be 7 tracks in length? Stranger things have happened in Kanye's world.
Desiigner's L.O.D. is available to stream across all major platforms.
