DeMarcus Cousins may be in deep water with the league, after video captures the Sacramento Kings star threatening news columnist Andy Furillo. The confrontation was sparked by Andy Furillo's column in the Sacramento Bee, in which the reporter discusses the ball player's recent NYC nightclub brawl involving teammate Matt Barnes.
In the column, Furillo mentioned Cousins's brother Jaleel, a college basketball star, getting tazed in a separate nightclub incident back in May. Any mention of DeMarcus's brother did not sit well with DeMarcus. Here's part of what Cousins spewed at Furillo:
"You're gonna have some real fucking issues ... Don't ever mention my brother again. You don't know my fucking brother ... You can say whatever the fuck you want to say about me, but don't mention my motherfucking family."
In response to the incident the Sacramento Kings released a statement. Here's an excerpt:
“We are committed to being open and transparent, and any hint of media censorship is unacceptable ... There is an ongoing review into this matter, and we will take the appropriate steps immediately upon its conclusion.”
