14-year NFL veteran DeAngelo Hall has officially announced his retirement today, telling reporters, "I'm not playing. That's for damn sure. But yeah, all the other stuff is still on the table." That "other stuff" Hall mentioned is in regards to a possible move into television or a front office position.

Hall, 34, spent the last nine and a half seasons of his career with the Washington Redskins, although injuries limited him to just 22 of a possibly 64 games over the last four years. He appeared in only five games last season.

"I had a vision of a gold jacket, but the injuries the last couple years have been very hard on me," Hall said, according to the Richmond Times-Dispatch. "So that's kind of out of the question now. But who's to say I can't get in there some other way? That's kind of my focus. I still want a gold jacket, whether I can get one as an exec, a coach -- I'm going to get me a damn gold jacket, believe that."

After three years playing for Virginia Tech, Hall was selected eighth overall by the Atlanta Falcons in the 2004 NFL Draft and spent his first four seasons there, which included two Pro Bowl selections. He was traded to the Oakland Raiders in March 2008 but lasted just eight games in the Bay Area before being cut. Three days after being released, Hall signed a one-year contract with the Redskins, where he played out the remainder of his career.

Over the course of his 14 seasons in the NFL, Hall compiled 811 career tackles, 132 passes defended, and 43 interceptions, tied for 63rd in NFL history, according to NFL.com
