It's been a minute since we've heard new music from Da$h, but the rapper has once again come forth with another dose of potent "SoundCloud Rap." That's not to say rap released exclusively through SoundCloud, but rather embodying several key proponents: brief runtime, lo-fi mixing, repetition, and a hazy instrumental. Yet Da$h has perfected the formula, seeking out a haunting lullaby-esque instrumental from revenxnt for his latest cut "Inception."

The song is certainly enjoyable, conjuring an eerie vibe that suggests the depth of wallowed sorrows. Yet where Da$h falters is opting for the brief loosie, where a more thorough approach might have benefitted. For one, the instrumental is fire, and would not have worn out its welcome in a doubled runtime. Plus, it would have been nice to see Da$h explore a few new flows, which would have likely occurred with the addition of extra verses. In any case, "Inception" is solid where loosies are concerned, and proof that his ear for vibe remains solid.

Quotable Lyrics

Baby what are your dreams
Would you tell em to me?
All the things that I've seen
Swear you wouldn't believe
