There was plenty of speculation on who would pull the "surprise drop" this year, and those generally in the conversation were Kanye West, Rihanna, and Madonna. We haven't seen anything from them so far, but a man no one expected to hear from anytime soon decided to show up for Q4 -- the ever-elusive D'angelo.
Though his follow-up to 2000's classic Voodoo has been rumored to be anywhere from 90-99% done over the last five years, the constant teasing made it seem like the final product may never surface. Now with photographic evidence of a packaged album, and the first single, "Sugah Daddy" (which we've already heard the neo-soul icon perform a couple of times), we're ready to believe in the project.
Judging by this first taste, we're more excited than ever.
