Jerry Jones announced that he would not allow his players to take a kneel in protest earlier this Summer, after the NFL revealed their new rules on the matter months ago. The announcement by Jones is highly hypocritical for one reason alone.

Dak Prescott, who played for Jones' Cowboys, revealed just over a week ago that he would not participate in any on-field protest either way. "I never protest. I never protest during the anthem, and I don’t think that’s the time or the venue to do so," he stated. "The game of football has always brought me such peace, and I think it does the same for a lot of people—a lot of people playing the game, a lot of people watching the game, a lot of people who have any impact of the game—so when you bring such controversy to the stadium, to the field, to the game it takes away. It takes away from that, it takes away from the joy and the love that football brings a lot of people.”
He continued on to say that he believes the protests made their initial point, to raise awareness. Now that the entire country is aware, Prescott believes that another step must be taken. Although I cannot stand behind Prescott's statements, it is unfortunate that whenever a Black man voices his own opinion that may not align with the culture, he is labeled a traitor. Tearing down other Black men, even if they aren't down for the cause, is counterproductive. Still, an artist took to the streets of Dallas to paint a mural of Prescott in the famous "Sunken Place" position, with tears streaming down his eyes.
