DaBaby has broken his silence on the aftermath of George Floyd's murder by police, pointing out that most people speaking out about these injustices are only concerned with getting clout or "saving face." After George Floyd was killed by police in Minneapolis last week, tons of celebrities have been using their platforms to spread awareness, information, and useful resources, where their followers can sign petitions and donate to causes aiding in the fight for justice.
Many of these celebrities have also been calling out their peers for their silence amid the protests that have broken out across the country seeking justice for Floyd and the end of police brutality. However, DaBaby, a real-life victim of police brutality, feels that a lot of the activist efforts going on are largely performative, and that most of these people speaking out do not understand the reality first-hand.
