When it comes to making a hit, Sage The Gemini and Eric Bellinger aren't a bad team to enlist. Da Brat has done just that on "#YAK," which is a hefty does of west coast bounce, inflected with plenty of melody from its two features. Meanwhile, Brat comes through with her classic style, bringing plenty of personality and technical skill to her verses. It's definitely a different feel for a Chicago artist, but it works pretty well.
No word on whether this is setting Brat up for a new project, but if it takes off, we're sure an album will follow. What do you think of Brat's new sound?
