Future's "Mask Off" and Childish Gambino's "Redbone" are both bonafide hits, so why not see what happens if you combine the two. Spanish producer Cookin Soul decided to find out, taking Future's vocals and pairing them with a reworked version of the "Redbone" instrumental. Apprently, Soul processed the beat through a Roland SP-404 analog sampler, further enhancing the vintage vibe.
Future's vocals work well over this mash up, coming off less melodic and a bit more in your face. Overall, this remix doesn't come close to the genius of each individual track, but it's a valiant and enjoyable effort nonetheless.
