During CNN's New Years Eve coverage, Lemon was stationed with Brooke Baldwin in New Orleans, and he found a way to get conspicuously hammered with the cameras rolling. At a certain point, things took a turn for the strange, as Lemon began lamenting his selfishness in relationships, stating that he's open to a more serious partnership in the new year. As innocent as that may sound, it's not typical fare for a television anchor's on-camera banter.
