Despite the Lakers' addition of LeBron James, Los Angeles Clippers point guard Patrick Beverley still believes his squad is the best team in Los Angeles. Naturally.

As reported by Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints, Beverley says:

“I am just fortunate to be at such a great ball club with a great coaching staff, great management, a great owner, great teammates to be able to perform for you guys every single night. We are the best team in L.A. I know Lawrence Frank didn’t give you guys exactly what you wanted to hear but I’ll tell y’all right now, we are the best team in L.A. for sure.

We are going to give our best effort every night and we are making the playoffs. The makeup of our team, the depth of our team, we are fortunate to be playing for a great city like L.A.”

The Clippers finished last season with a 42-20 record and acquired #11 overall pick Shai Gilgeous-Alexander in the 2018 NBA Draft in a trade with the Charlotte Hornets for #12 overall pick, Miles Bridges, and two future second-round picks. The Clippers also had the #13 overall pick, which they used to select another point guard, Boston College's Jerome Robinson.

While Beverley may be confident in the Clippers roster as it stacks up against the new-look Lakers heading into the 2018-19 NBA season, oddsmakers disagree. According to the Westgate Las Vegas Superbook, the Clippers over/under win total for the upcoming season is set at 35.5, whereas LeBron James and the Lake show are listed with an over/under of 48.5 wins.

The two teams will meet for the first time in the 2018-19 campaign on December 28.
