HOT 97 has been a presence in New York hip hop culture for decades, and the many of the on-air personalities and DJs have been around since the 90s. So far, within the last year, we've seen the departure of beloved talents like Angie Martinez and Mister Cee, and as of today, yet another OG in the radio game is bidding the station farewell.

Cipha Sounds has decided to part ways with HOT 97, airing his frustrations with the station on a recent episode of the Juan Epstein podcast. While Cypha transferred from the morning show to Angie's 3 PM slot following her departure, he apparently never felt comfort or support from the station, and has decided to move on.

HOT 97 has released an official statement on the matter, with a press release reading, "Effective immediately, Cipha Sounds is no longer with WQHT HOT 97 FM. We wish him well on his future endeavors.”

Cipha gave his own final words on Instagram today, hinting at big plans ahead. View his post below.

[Update: Cipha Headed To Roc Nation]

Cipha mentioned that he was moving on to big things following his departure from HOT 97, and we've finally been given a glimpse of things to come. It seems the former radio personality has signed a management deal with Roc Nation, and while it's still not clear what exactly he has in store for us, the Roc should give him a big look. His DJ pair-up with Drewski (deemed The MVMNT) may very well be a part of the plan, as Cipha hinted on Instagram recently.
