"We’re kind of putting the baseball on the backburner."
Ian Kahaloa, a suspended Cincinnati Reds prospect, recently uploaded a video to his SnapChat in which he appears doing a line of cocaine while wearing his team-issued gear.
Kahaloa is already serving a 50-game ban for violating the league's drug program. He had already tested positive before the SnapChat was posted, although it's possible the footage was recorded sometime before he was tested.
Jeff Gruape, the Reds' player development director said the team is "putting baseball on the backburner" when it comes to their 19-year old pitcher.
“We’re obviously really concerned,” Graupe said. “We’re working to get Ian the help and assistance that we believe he needs to get his long-term future to a more stable place. We’re kind of putting the baseball on the backburner.”
