Velous' "Flipmode" was definitely a stand-out track from last summer. Yesterday, Fabolous teased that the remix of it would dropping this Friday, however it seems like we've received the song a day early. Alongside Chris Brown and Fabolous, Velous re-vamp's "Flipmode" with a new remix.
While the original was hot, Fabolous and Chris Brown absolutely destroy their verses on the remix. Velous and Chris Brown's smooth R&B voices work well together and Fab's calm and collective flow is a perfect match to the two. With Fab mentioning the remix on his Instagram, this is supposed to serve as the first single to his upcoming Summertime Shootout 3. The three artists come together to make this song to bring this song to another height. Obviously as the song pays homage to Busta Rhymes and Flipmode, Fab takes his punch lines and similes as far as he could take it. It's another example of how Fab's an incredible lyricist.
While Velous' name is still new to many, his resume is still pretty tight. He's probably best known for his production on Kanye's "All Day" as well as having production The Life Of Pablo's "Highlights." Over the past few years, he's produced for Drake, Chinx, Jadakiss, French Montana and Belly among many others. While his production credits are extensive and connected to some bigger names, hopefully this remix leads him to doing more than just producing.
While Summertime Shooutout 3 still doesn't have a release date set, the release of "Flipmode" remix is promising that it'll arrive soon, hopefully as soon as next month. Fabolous has been doing some pretty solid guest verses this past year and has said that his collab project with Jadakiss will be arriving on Halloween. Coincidentally, Chris Brown's upcoming album is set to be releasing on the same day.
