It comes from Bennett's optimistic new project "Be Yourself."

Taylor Bennett's "Hype Me Up" is one of 6 new tracks on his project Be Yourself released Thursday. It features Supa Bwe, another Chicago rising Chicago rapper with a very different sound that is still highly complimentary. The song begins entirely with Taylor, who has found a comfortable lane of Savemoney-influenced hip-hop with an emphasis on identity and acceptance. His verses are conversational but still deeply personal, offering wisdom but still ever-learning. In the outro, he hands things off to Supa Bwe, who glides through his own section that contains the spontaneous energy of a freestyle.

After announcing the tracklist last week, Bennett shared some thoughts on what he's looking to accomplish with his new set of songs. "I’m making this project for Our future, & for Our Children," he writes of the project. "'Be YourSelf.' isn’t just an album rather an opportunity for a 'Round Table' discussion. I emphasis the words round table because this discussion is not one to be had in private. No. No one is innocent in this conversation & no group of people are at fault for the flaws in Our society but as a unit we are judged by the choices & systems we design to upheld Power & Capital amongst certain communities based upon skin color, sexuality, gender & Above. Im not saying Be Black, Be Gay Or Be Different I’m Just saying 'Be Yourself.'"

Listen to the full project, which also features a contribution from Young Thug, here.

Quotable Lyrics:
Stayed down for the come up and got drawed out
Believed in you when no one had your back, I had my arms out
Now you got a new bitch, I swear you goin' all out
Now you not wanting to talk no more, but not fall out
And every time we get to talk, you always talk, don't call back
And every time we get a chance to meet it's for a fall back
