SZA didn't begin the year touted as TDE's next big star but, thanks do a sterling debut with Ctrl, the R&B songstress has scored that title on the strength of that wildly successful album. Songs like "Love Galore" and "Drew Barrymore" have made her a fan favorite and, as her nearly five-month long tour came to a close in New York City last night, she may have a few more converts on her hands because of a special surprise guest.

Chance the Rapper, arguably Chicago's best known and most charitable rapper, joined SZA on-stage during her show at Irving Plaza Monday night (December 11th). The two performed a bit of a throwback in SZA's catalogue, "Child's Play," a collaboration that is off her 2014 EP Z. By all accounts, the crowd ate it up, with the excited screams of the women present heard punctuating parts of their rendition of the song. You can check out some of the video captured during the concert that was shared after the fact below.

SZA also shared a picture of her hang session with Chance the Rapper backstage at the venue, with Mack Wilds also present for the occasion. Captioning the post with "Christmas Card," it's clear that the Ctrl singer was ecstatic to be wrapping up her 2017 tour on such a high note. Peep the entire post below.

According to a fan's recounting of the events that transpired at the concert, Chance supposedly just came for the show. In fact, he may not have been planning to perform last night, but everyone in attendance is quite glad that he did.
