Chance The Rapper dispels rumors he's running for mayor of Chicago as he endorses Amara Enyia.

Many people thought Chance The Rapper would be running for mayor of Chicago after a cryptic tweet and the announcement of a press conference in regards to Chicago's mayoral race. However, that doesn't appear to be the case. The rapper showed up a City Hall today to announce his endorsement to mayoral candidate, Amara Eniya.

Chance The Rapper is putting his support behind Amara Eniya in Chicago's mayoral race, WLS-TV reports. The rapper pulled up to City Hall to make the announcement while welcoming Eniya with a big hug after he introduced her as the person he's backing.

"I would like to say very narcissistically if I back you, you have a chance, absolutely," Chance said. "I want to work with somebody that's about change...the one person, in my research, of this wide-open race that views align with me would obviously be candidate Amara Enyia."

During his press conference, the rapper addressed rumors while that he was running for mayor. He also said that people are more inclined to vote for who they think have a higher likelihood of winning instead of who they think should win.

"I've been longstanding saying that Chicago needs new leadership. It needs a new mayor. So I'm proud to announce that I won't be running for mayor," he said. "I noticed that when I started talking about this, it obviously caused a firestorm in the tweets. All the candidates started sweatin' because Chicago politics is about people knowing what's possible. Everybody becomes a political analyst all of a sudden when its election time."

While it doesn't look like Chance will be running for mayor anytime soon, it feels like we'll see him do more political work in the future.
