The hype around Black Panther is far from simmering, as the film keeps breaking records and accumulating a massive roster of fans who are enraptured by this latest entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It has already racked up over $700 million in overseas box office receipts, after only being released into theatres two weeks ago. Similarly, it has gained a devoted critical following, as mainstream audiences and cinephiles alike have written about Black Panther's cinematic achievements.

Hot off the heels of this resounding success, Chadwick Boseman, who plays the film's main protagonist T'Challa, stopped by The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to surprise some fans of the film. During the segment, these individuals were asked to speak about what Black Panther means to them; unbeknownst to these eager participants, Boseman was hiding behind a curtain, ready to surprise them during an opportune moment.

The fans repeatedly thanked the film and Boseman for expanding the horizons of cinema, all while giving black people more diverse opportunities. One woman admits how "there's so many of us out here trying to create great things, and I was just so inspired as someone who wants to make movies one day that art can change the world." Another fan poignantly revealed that "I cannot tell you how much it means to have you step into the role as our king and be holding it with such grace and poise and joy."

When Boseman abruptly revealed himself, fans were either stunned or extremely elated. Peep the clip below:
