CeeLo has released another single off his upcoming album Heart Blanche. "Mother May I" follows "Music to My Soul," which was released with an accompanying video last month. The new single is strong work from the Dungeon Family vet, who belts out a spiritual ode to his lost mother.
CeeLo's warm and infectious vocals are the centerpiece, but toward the end of the track, he's joined by funky guitars that give his lyrics their proper feel of exaltation. Though CeeLo's songwriting capitalizes on simplicity, there's always a world of depth beneath his words.
Heart Blanche will be released on November 6.
