Back in April, Cardi B found herself in some legal trouble after her former manager, Shaft, sued her for breach of contract and defamation, among other things. He was working alongside Cardi B since 2015 and claimed he played a big role in helping her get to where she in today. However, Cardi B filed a $15M countersuit last week and claimed that the former manager did some shady things behind the scenes including controlling her personal and business life. Now, a rep for Shaft has come out to claim that the countersuit is filled with lies.

Shaft is claiming that Cardi B's countersuit against him is full of "outright lies and distortion" and says that it's all part of a "campaign against him," PageSix reports. A rep for Shaft released a statement in response to Cardi B's countersuit.

"The facts are simple — Cardi B’s music, image and rise to superstardom were all developed and executed by Shaft and his team of writers and producers,” The rep said. “The outright lies and distortions in her claims make you shake your head."

The rep also referred to Cardi B's countersuit as a part of a "campaign by Cardi B and her team to defame and injure Shaft, the one person who saw promise in her, invested time and resources in her and succeeded in making her rich and famous."
