And we're not at all surprised.
Before the 2019 Super Bowl (where the Patriots beat the Los Angeles Rams) Pepsi debuted its advertisement featuring Cardi B, Steve Carell, and Lil John. We think it's fair to say that the highlight of the spot was Cardi, who made her grand entrance bursting through the front door of the restaurant and showed off her stunning, sparkly nails.
The woman behind the nail art, Jenny Bui (who we've previously posted about) was the genius behind the design and told Refinery 29 that close to 500 Swarovski crystals were used to bring the nails to life.
"I used around 25-45 Swarovski crystals on each nail. So, altogether it was hundreds of small crystals," Jenny said. "Ultimately, it took around two and a half hours to complete."
Jenny also explained how going the extra mile for the nails were her idea since Card initially just wanted one color. "I suggested that she do three colors to match with the Pepsi can," Jenny added. "I actually tried to create the Pepsi logo with crystals, but Cardi said no, because she didn't want to give away that she was doing a Pepsi commercial [before it aired]."
