Many 21 Savage fans were confused by the rapper's arrest. The fact that he was detained by ICE was upsetting in itself but the officials' denouncement of his public persona as false became the sensationalized focus. Cardi B joined those who have been expressing support for the family man since then.

The "I Like It" artist shared a picture of the detained with a Black Lives Matter banner and "Free 21 Savage" slogan. She attached a lengthy caption in his defense. “We will read and educate ourselves on this situation and we will take action,” Cardi wrote. “21 did not come here illegally and was not caught doing anything illegal or doing any mischief! In fact he have change his whole life around and as ya can see he’s been very positive in his actions and music.”

Then she channeled her hood attitude to take aim at those who were seemingly amused by the British element of the situation.
"Now let me get ghetto ....and for ya d*ck breath motherfuckers talking bout 'sO hE nOt FrOm AtLaNta,'" she shot back. "He grew up there, his kids and family live there and BLEW UP there with the support of the community."
