Activision knows what their fans want. The video game publisher has faced backlash in recent years, with gamers slowly growing weary of Call Of Duty. The most popular installment in the Call of Duty series has always been Black Ops. All three titles have been praised by fans, and of course the "Zombie Mode" also helps sell the game. With pressure mounting, Activision decided to dive back into the Black Ops series with a fourth installment.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 dropped this weekend, and gamers all over the world dug into their wallets and dropped $60 or more for the title. As reported by Forbes, Black Ops 4 has become the fastest selling Call of Duty title. The game recorded the most first-day digital sales in Activision's history. Activision usually does not release the sales statistics for their COD games, but they weren't going to let this latest achievement pass on by without an announcement. The Executive Vice President and GM of Call of Duty Rob Kostich released a statement after the game's launch, where he thanks gamers and basks in the accomplishment.
“Black Ops 4 is an incredible game, and the community’s response to it has been amazing," he stated. "We have shattered multiple digital day one sales records, and the number of people who connected online on day one to play has grown year on year."
