Pharrell signee Buddy has finalized his album, and it looks all but ready to drop on July 20th. The eclectic rapper born in Compton, Los Angeles was quickly snapped up by Pharrell after the producer fell in love with his video for "Shine." The young rapper who embarked on a tour with Boogie and Joey Bada$$ looks primed to take the next in his career, and naturally he's looking to make a discernible splash on his debut record Harlan & Alondra.

Buddy posted covert art for the project depicting a family portrait (rightfully his own). The name for his project is derived from the cross streets he grew up on in Compton, which he sums up are the fulcrum for his music. Buddy's first single off the project, "Hey Up There," featuring Ty Dolla $ign and frequent collaborator Kent Jamz is set to premiere today on Ebro's afternoon radio shift at 5pm ET.

Since signing to Pharrell's imprint has had to overcome several delays, all due to his boss's impossibly difficult schedule. Working out the details of the album often meant taking on unnecessary frequent flyer miles. At the end of the day, Buddy seems entirely grateful for the added exposure. Tune in this afternoon for the initial single drop.
