Ortiz charged with three felonies stemming from alleged incident in March.
Former boxing champion Victor Ortiz has reportedly been arrested in Oxnard, California after a woman told authorities he raped her. According to reports, the alleged incident took place inside of a home in Oxnard on March 19 and she contacted police that same day to file a report against Ortiz.
Ortiz, who was scheduled to fight John Molina in Ontario, California on Sunday night, surrendered to authorities on Tuesday. He was charged with three felony counts including forcible rape, forcible oral copulation and forcible digital penetration. Bail was set at $100,000.
The 31-year old fighter has had several run-ins with the law in recent years, including a DUI arrest in 2016 and a 2015 incident where he was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after being accused of beating up a fan at a Kenny Chesney.
