New Bodega for your eyes and ears.
The Harlem rapper pays homage in a major way as he interpolates elements of Jay-Z's "Been Around The World" and Cam'Ron's "Oh Boy" to craft the perfect hook: "“I been around (papi what)/I been around (papi who) / She like the way I diddy bop, you peep that/white mink, ice on plus Chanel ski hat.”
The new video arrives as a shift back to the music for BAMZ who recently turned his efforts toward the small screen after landing a role as a supporting character on Showtime's SMILF series. For Bodega, born Nathaniel De La Rosa, the transition from behind the booth to in front of the camera was something for which hip-hop long prepared him.
"The beauty behind the rap shit, is the confidence," he explained to Billboard in October of last year. "I built my confidence through music, through the many ups and downs of music; I built my confidence just being on tour performing in front of people. So when those lights come on, in Hollywood, it’s almost like second nature to me. I don’t think too much of it, I block everything out, I’ve already been trained to do so."
