“I am heartbroken to have to share the news of the passing of my brother Bob Kulick. His love of music, and his talent as a musician and producer should always be celebrated. Please respect the Kulick Family’s privacy during this sad time. RIP,” Bruce Kalick wrote on Twitter.

Kulick was born in Brooklyn in 1950. He first auditioned for Kiss in the 1970s, but didn't land the role of lead-guitarist; however, he would remain connected to the band and worked on several albums throughout their discography.

“We are heartbroken. Our deepest condolences to the Kulick family in this difficult time,” the band posted on Twitter.

Kulick also worked with W.A.S.P., Lou Reed, and Meat Loaf’s touring band, the Neverland Express. He is also known for co-writing the “Sweet Victory” song for Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob Squarepants. The song was played during Super Bowl LIII.

Sons Of Apollo keyboardist Derek Sherinian wrote on Twitter, "I am very sad to hear about the passing of Bob Kulick. I played on several tribute records in the 90s that Bob produced. My condolences to his family and especially Bruce. R.I.P."

A cause of death has not been confirmed.
