You may recall Black Thought's monumental freestyle last December, which found the lyricist going in for ten unimpeded minutes, while Funk Flex proceeded to melt from the proximity. Suffice it to say, the impressive session led to a resurgence of the "Black Thought Is GOAT" narrative, essentially standard table-talk for hip-hop's elite lyricists. Though his credentials need no introduction, Thought has been somewhat plagued by the same ailment as Andre 3000; his group's discography is legendary, but fans have been steady clamoring for a solo album.

Now, it appear that salvation is en route. Black Thought has teamed up with 9th Wonder for Streams Of Thought Vol 1, which is set to drop on June 1st, alongside Kanye West. While not an album per se, the EP will be produced in entirety by 9th and his Soul Council production team. Unfortunately, we have yet to receive any concrete information, but given the level of talent involved, the project will undoubtedly prove a memorable addition to 2018's already impressive repertoire.

One thing is for certain. Expect Streams Of Thought to contain lyricism of the highest order. Be sure to mark your calendars for June 1st, and catch up on Black Thought's iconic freestyle for good measure.
