After rumors of her salary re-negotiations were made public late last week, black-ish star Tracee Ellis Ross has confirmed that she's looking for a serious pay increase from the network that has helped make her one of Hollywood's biggest stars.

In a tweet that she published on Saturday (January 20th), Ellis Ross said that she had indeed been in talks with the powers that be concerning her contract but, unlike the original report stated, there was never any bad blood during those meetings. She also admitted that, while having some details about the negotiations become public, she's thankful for the overwhelming support she's received from many people, in person and online. Check out her full statement below.

The black-ish star's salary was the subject of a piece by The Hollywood Reporter, which claimed that Ellis Ross threatened to cut her screen time if she wasn't getting what she thought of to be worthy compensation. Check out the detailed explanation from THR below:

With negotiations for the fifth season ongoing, sources say Ellis Ross feels that if she isn't brought up to [co-star Anthony] Anderson's level, she may opt to appear in fewer episodes to make up the disparity by guesting on another show [...] A network source says a new deal will significantly increase her compensation and cautioned that Anderson and Ellis Ross' roles aren't equal given that he has been attached to Black-ish from the start and is an executive producer. Still, until a few weeks ago, this type of candid conversation would never have taken place outside an actress' agency.

The story is still developing and more news of Ellis Ross' negotiations should be made public in the near future.
