The Black Eyed Peas became a mainstream staple over the past decade, but their success in the limelight came at the cost of their hip-hop roots. Before the days of Fergie, BEP debut and sophomore albums lacked the commercial appeal they had with Elephunk and Monkey Business, but they definitely delivered some smooth hip-hop records. Today, they take it back to their roots on their new project, Masters Of The Sun which includes a track featuring De La Soul's Posdnuos, Ali Shaheed Muhammed and a posthumous verse from the late Phife Dawg.
Black Eyed Peas new album Masters Of The Sun finds them heading back to their hip-hop roots. They seemingly shed the electronic/pop sounds that have dominated their albums for the past 15 years and brought it back to their beginnings. "All Around The World" features a verse from the late Phife Dawg and De La Soul's Posdnuos and production from Ali Shaheed Muhammed. It's one of the many songs that will have day one BEP fans reminiscing of their beginnings in the late 90's.
