Biz Markie is currently prepping a new album, since his last one was released ten years ago in 2003. The rapper spoke on what to expect from this new LP while talking to Billboard.
Biz says half of the as-of-yet untitled album is finished, and it is a mix of "singing covers like I used to do with the Beastie Boys and real rap records." The songs he's covering include Steve Miller Band, Elton John and Joe Cocker, but that's about all he's revealed. Although the album may be half finished, Biz says it's coming along slowly. "I'm doing it now, doing the ground work, doing it slowly," he continued, "It's going to be timeless. I've got a couple people (guesting) but they told me not to say their names. It's gonna be lots of fun."
Markie also says he will be touring on his own following the album release, but those details have yet to be hammered out. "I've got to get it done first, then we'll figure it out."
