If you follow us on social media, as you should (!!), you probably caught me Snapping/Instagram Story-ing away while I was in Chicago attending a selection of shows for Redbull Sound Select's annual 30 Days. 30 Days in Chicago is a first for them-- the previous years, they've taken over the city of Los Angeles for 30 days, bringing new artists together, at a new venue, every night for a full month. This year they ambitiously conquered a different city, and from the three shows I saw at the outset of the month, they've killed it. First up, was Young Thug-- and sorry Big Tymers-- but Thugger was still the best thing I saw during my time in the Chi (case-in-point: Thug performing "Killed Before" below).

Nonetheless, the Big Tymers reunion show, which is only the second show they've done since reuniting, comes in at a very, very close second. While they might not be Chicago natives themselves, the city was showing them love as though they were. It's hard not to, when the opening line-up is basically straight-up Chicago (okay, save for Tee Grizzley); put together by the creator FakeShoreDrive, Andrew Barber (keep your eyes peeled for our Q&A with him). Thus, the openers were a who's who of Chicago favorites: GLC, King Louie (Chance the Rapper even came out to show love), The Cool Kids, Twista, Bump J, G Herbo and more. Tee Grizzley was the final act before Mannie Fresh and Birdman graced the stage, pumping up the crowd with his hit "First Day Out."

The Big Tymers, for their part, took us through some of their classics, while also interacting with the crowd, bringing up a couple of girls to twerk on stage when they did Juvenile's "Back That Azz Up," and fielding requests from the packed venue as to what they wanted to hear.

And not to be overlooked/probably should have come first: the recap itself starts with Kehlani's show, which was the day prior, where she absolutely put on for a 2,000+ crowd, dancing and singing flawlessly through an apparent contact emergency. She was actively shouting out queer females everywhere, including those that opened for-- Kodie Shane among them.

Catch everything that went down in our video recap.
