Birdman is giving away birds.
For two decades, Cash Money Records has been giving back to the community for Thanksgiving in New Orleans. Co-founders Bryan "Birdman" Williams and Ronald "Slim" Williams have been doing it for 22 years and they've just announced when they'll be giving out turkeys again for the holidays.
It seems entirely fitting that Birdman would be handing out birds for Thanksgiving. Continuing a lengthy tradition, The Source is reporting that they will be conducting the giveaway on November 20. The two brothers are hoping to lift people's spirits and get everyone excited for the holidays.
The Williams brothers will be on-site during the giveaway, which is taking place at New Home Full Gospel Ministries. Turkeys won't be the only things provided as fun for the family is set to be a staple in the event. NOLA Games On Wheels will be there from 2 PM to 6 PM with video games and entertainment for the kids. The turkey giveaway will also include full-service health screenings, which has been part of the event for years.
Birdman issued a statement, saying, "You could take away the success, the money, and everything. It doesn’t matter. What matters most is the people who were with you since day one: your neighborhood, your friends, and your family. We’ve never forgotten how New Orleans put us first. The Turkey Giveaway is a way to say ‘Thank you’ to everybody we love. Out of everything, it’s what we want people to associate Cash Money with. This defines our legacy."
