It appears that Big Sean’s infectious club banger, "IDFWU", was originally intended for the hands of another pop artist.

According to one the song’s producers, Mike Free, the hyped anthem was actually created with Justin Bieber's vocals in mind. Free told XXL Magazine recently,

"Originally I think Justin Bieber was supposed to have it; he had posted a video of a snippet and everything, where it was him doing the song. They ended up not taking it and Big Sean got the song, and I’m glad, because we ended up getting a really strong record for hip-hop."

Bieber even titled the track “Turn Up”, and shared a preview of his version of the DJ Mustard-produced banger, which you can check out below. Good thing fate worked its magic, because apparently we were awfully close to never hearing Big Sean’s diss-anthem.

ICYMI: "IDFWU" was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America earlier this month boi.
