From "Savage," to "Da Whole Time," to "Sponsor," BeatKing and TM88 have done some great work together, and they keep up the tradition with "Quick," a track from BeatKing's new mixtape Stripper Friends. The track is a slow-burner, with the Club God opting for a subdued, auto-tuned delivery. In terms of subject matter, it's typical BeatKing fare, as he celebrates the women of the strip club. "Like Beyoncé, like Trina, like Kash Doll, Cardi B, Serena," he raps, describing a "good girl" who "dance like a stripper." Meanwhile, the creeping synth line provided by 88 is another example of the attention to detail that takes his beats to another level. Two minutes in, he calls to "slow it up," and lets the track ride out in classic Houston chopped and screwed form.
The majority of BeatKing's new project is produced by the rapper himself, and he's also made the choice not to include any guest appearances. In other words, it's the most purely Club God project you could ask for. Listen to it here.
