Austin The Icon wears his influences on his sleeve, rapping with the unmistakable cadence of Chance The Rapper on much of his new record. The Southfield, Michigan rapper also channels the jazzy vibes of SURF, but instead of going Uber-posi with it, he brings things in a genuinely weird direction, distorting and shape-shifting the sax-led beat until it becomes something else entirely. It has us eagerly anticipating his developments as an artist. His Lessons Learned EP was released earlier this year.
