Donald Glover's Atlanta series is one of the many projects that he's been working on but arguably, one of the best. The show's success exceeded expectations and ultimately landed FX two Emmy awards, two Golden Globes as well as a Peabody Award. However, the show concluded its second season a few weeks back and nobody was sure whether we'd see the show return for a new season. According to a new report, the show will be making its return for another season next year.

Atlanta will be returning for a third season on FX. According to Deadline, the show is aiming to be back on TV by 2019 but they've yet to announce an official date. Either way, it's exciting for fans who've been following the show since it launched in 2016.

Nick Grad, co-president of original programming for FX Networks and FX Production, spoke on his excitement for another season of the critically acclaimed show.

"Atlanta is phenomenal, achieving and exceeding what few television series have done,” Grad said. He explained that Donald Glover and the rest of the Atlanta team elevated the show to a new level with season 2 and believes they'll bring it to new heights with season 3.

“We’re grateful to the producers and our extraordinary cast and crew for achieving this level of excellence, and we share the excitement with our audience about the third season knowing they will continue to take us to unexpected and thrilling places.” he said.

We'll keep you updated on more information about the next season.
