His college days far behind him, Asher Roth has recently taken to exploring more esoteric, experimental territory with his music. Yesterday he dropped off "The Hierophant," the second installment of his #hashwednesdays series after "Oren's Not Sure."
A "hierophant" is a Tarot card that represents the a religious figure, a conduit between humanity and the heavens. Indeed, Roth was one on when he wrote this track. He eventually diverges from medieval clergyman to pontificate on various subjects, thought he keeps the same multi-syllabic rhyme going for nearly half the song.
I'm done fantasizing on what the hell the Eight of Wands means
The Hierophant, pulling from the sky my guide's a higher one.
