Before Yams Day, A$AP Rocky chose to hit some of the most prominent media outlets to promote the upcoming event. With only a few guests announced prior to the show, the Mob had kept fairly quiet on what we can expect. During his sit-down with Angie Martinez, Rocky spilled the beans in a brief manner, revealing that Young M.A. and a few others would be performing. He also spoke with Ebro Darden on Beats 1 Radio, where Janelle Monae was actually a topic of conversation.
Rocky loves to gloat about his pretty boy swag but even he gets intimated by the finest women in the music industry. Notably, Janelle Monae still gets him shivering. The rapper asked Ebro if she was single, before realizing that it wouldn't even matter if she was. "Is Janelle Monae single? [...] Hopefully, man one day I'll be ready for a lady like her."
Rocky says that he's met her a few times and each time, he's stopped in his tracks. "When I be meeting her, I just want to keep it very respectful. I can't even be a piece of shit. She's precious."
Monae's love life has never really been brought to the public eye. Despite Rocky feeling intimated by her presence, he may garner up the strength to ask her on a date one day in the future.
