2017 has seen releases from many of hip-hop's most high profile acts, but there was one notable absence. While it's true that A$AP Rocky was all over A$AP Mob's Cozy Tapes Vol. 2 : Too Cozy, the prolific emcee has yet to release his upcoming, untitled solo project. We do know a few details, scant as they may be: the rapper previously told GQ a little bit about the album's sonic direction, stating "My new album is really about testing new sounds. People are scared to test new sounds.... I prefer to experiment and have my crowd grow with me and to reach new crowds. I don't just rap—I actually make music."

Suffice it to say, it wouldn't be surprising to see A$AP Rocky following in the footsteps of his homeboy Tyler, The Creator, opting for a more experimental, melodic project. And while that's purely speculation, it's hard to come to any concrete conclusions, given that Rocky has been content to keep us in the dark. However, Flacko did indulge in a moment of generosity, previewing an upcoming song reportedly called "Gang" on Instagram live last night. While it's unclear whether or not "Gang" will be appearing on his new album, all signs point to yes. Check out the clip below, which finds Rocky teasing what sounds like a chorus.

As of this moment, Rocky's upcoming project seems likely for a 2018 release. However, in this era of surprise releases, anything is possible. The question is, what will a new A$AP Rocky album sound like?
