This week's FIRE EMOJI playlist benefitted from a salad bar of options. Thanks to this open-menu discourse, we saw a variation of models, Megan Thee Stallion joining up with Young Nudy and Maxo Kream in anticipation of next week's unveiling, while Logic managed the same feat 7 days ago with a gusty showing opposite Eminem.
Logic's "Clickbait" may have stolen the headlines for all the wrong reasons, but the fine folks overseeing the FIRE EMOJI playlist chose to overlook those sensational elements, in order to uphold their unfettered musical agenda. "Still Ballin" featuring Wiz Khalifa was our pick of the litter box instead. On the other side of the NY-divide, A$AP Ferg and A$AP Rocky dropped their DMX-inspired single "Pups," earning themselves a spot off of muscle memory and nothing else.
A$AP Ferg and Maxo Kream earned their cover berths by edging their co-stars by the slightest of margins. After sampling his father on "Still" a week ago, Maxo Kream chose a less prophetic tone for his duet with current "it girl" Megan Thee Stallion, where he holds the distinction of being the rare person to receive a YES answer upon requesting her talents - the other's being Khalid and Young Nudy. Rounding out the Top 3, Skepta's "Bullet From A Gun" graces our list, although it could be argued that his other single "Greaze Mode" was just as deserving.
