The NFL trade deadline is rapidly approaching and rumors continue to suggest that some star players might be on the move. Among those who are hoping to be dealt before the October 30 deadline is Arizona Cardinals Pro Bowl cornerback Patrick Peterson.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Peterson "desperately" wants out of AZ and has asked the Cardinals brass to trade him before next Tuesday. Furthermore, Peterson's cousin and former NFL cornerback Bryant McFadden has tweeted that the New Orleans Saints are his "ideal trade destination." That said, Schefter reports that the Cardinals insist that they're not trading the 28-year old star.

Arizona selected Peterson out of LSU with the fifth overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft and he has made the Pro Bowl in every season, including three First-Team All-Pro selections.

Through seven games this season, the Cardinals are 1-6 but they'll get a rare opportunity for a win on Sunday as they host the equally inept San Francisco 49ers.
