The singer came to her SNL comedian fiance's defense on Twitter, responding to a tweet about the article. "Y’all do kno this man has an auto immune disease …… right? ….. like you do understand what you’re doing when u do this right? jus wanna make sure," she wrote. Grande is referring to Davidson's battle with Crohn's disease, with which he was diagnosed as a teen. In a now-deleted tweet, she added, "p.s. 'butthole eyes' says he's still not doing ur stupid podcast you've been begging him to do for three years :*"

The singer's fans joined in on criticizing the article after Grande called attention to it. Davidson himself has yet to publicly comment on the article.
In other Grande news, the singer is expected to earn her biggest first-sales week of her career with Sweetener, released last Friday. the album is projected to move between 200,000 and 225,000 equivalent album units. If the numbers hold up, this will also mark Grande's biggest first week total. Her previous best came with 2016's Dangerous Woman, which missed the No. 1 slot thanks to Drake's monster-seller Views, but logged 175,000 equivalent album units.
